Welcome to the web site for the Shin-do Shotokai association. Based in the United Kingdom we have member clubs from all areas of the UK and contacts throughout the world. We hope that you enjoy your visit.
Shin-do Shotokai translated means Spirit of Shotokai
This name was chosen by our founding Technical Directors Alan Neish and Steve Gilmour. Both are 5th Dans, with over 30 years experience, who originally practiced with Harada Sensei. We practice Shotokai Karate and the Directors see this as a fitting description of the ‘way’ that we are on.
The organisation made a conscious decision to be a group of people that have a strong sense of core values and principles. These can be followed in the ‘way’ of practice, in teaching and in life as a whole. Thus the method is truly holistic.
We also made a choice to have a separation between the technical responsibilities of the Executive and the administration of the organisation and this is embodied in our constitution.
