About Us:
Martin started at the tender age of 13 under the instruction of
John Henderson and Richard Murphy. |

Practicing five times a week
he managed to gain his 1st Dan black belt in three
years and at the age of 16 was the youngest person in the Shotokai Foundation to
receive 1st Dan. As he
progressed through the grades he felt that it became more
important to pass on what his instructors had given him to
others. So with the help of a few friends, Sharon being one of
them opened his first club. This club is still running today
although not by Martin. Enkatsu Dojo was formed in 2003 and has
steadily grown from two members to more than thirty and
hopefully will continue to grow in technical ability and
numbers. Martin is thankful to his instructors for the
grounding and life changing experiences he received during his
time with them. Now as part of the Shin Do Shotokai
organisation he continues to learn from his fellow founders and
indeed from everyone he comes into contact with, from white belt
up.
